I was planning on doing some baking today, shock horror, but what I had planned needed 3 ingredients I didn’t have – how that is possible I do not know, I have lists of future baking all over the place and I am at the shops daily buying all sorts of foodstuff. But today I messed up. So time to make some more cookies. And in the cupboard I had a bag of Butterscotch sweets so guess what I made.
I was unsure how they would turn out as I obviously know the cookie dough (my trusty Nigella recipe) is yum, however Butterscotch sweets are so hard, and although I imagined they would melt nicely in the oven, once out and cooled, would they be a not so enjoyable teeth-breaking snack!?
And yep, they were bloody hard once set, but actually the dough was nice and gooey (except of course the second batch, which I left in the oven whilst eating dinner in front of the telly – will I never learn!) which went quite well with the crunchy butterscotch, so if you have good strong teeth, these are quite a nice.
