I have been meaning to do this all week but having a poorly Golden Boy has been somewhat restricting.

Last weekend was Golden Boy’s Birthday, then Valentines Day, then my Birthday; we had a few plans but mostly it was about spending as much time together with the little fellow – First Born has been mostly at work and Smalls is visiting the Grandparents.

At 3 he completely understands what birthday means and what comes with it – balloons, party, cake and most importantly presents.

Several times since Saturday he has said “Thank you for my pirate ship mummy”, so gorgeous, and a winner of a present. Actually all presents were very warmly received.birthday

The cake was a bit of a disaster, well the sponge was okay, but fondant is not my friend… But to a 3 year old who doesn’t eat much cake he was easily pleased.

But by Valentines night, after a lovely curry, Biggy and I got home to poor Nanny cleaning up sick and looking after a very poorly little Golden Boy.

Our plans for a trip to a farm on my Birthday were scuppered as he was much to tired and weak but by lunchtime he seemed brighter so we attempted to go out for a little bite to eat, and we made a rookie mistake; we gave him a milkshake!

2 minutes later he had thrown it back up all over the table. Oops.

It wasn’t the birthday I had planned but I got some lovely things. And next year is going to make up for it, isn’t it Biggy…
