I have pretty much lost all enthusiasm for Halloween now; everyone really celebrated this year and we had a great time, and I would have posted this over 24 hours ago if it wasn’t for the bloody computer, or the bloody internet, or both – meaning I have had to re-do this several times and I can’t help thinking, ‘oh another spider, whoopee!’. Sorry that is the wrong attitude, this will work now.
Right, so at the weekend we went and visited my Nanny K and Grandpa A – they had been looking after Smalls for half term, and First Born and his girlfriend, Polly were visiting- her name is not Polly but for some reason Golden Boy has named her that so Polly she is – and being as it was Nanny K’s birthday on Halloween they thought they would make a get together out of it with some friends and family, so with the help of Grandkids they spent the week before decorating the house, and they did a really good job of it!
Everywhere you went inside there were all sorts of spookiness, and so so many spiders.
They didn’t have to buy many of the spiders as they already have quite a collection. Yep my mother collects spiders, she doesn’t mind whether they are cuddly, ornamental or real – actually she doesn’t have any real ones but she is very short so can’t dust the cobwebs…
The inside was impressive but it was the outside where Grandpa A excelled himself, with the help of the kids – and he really needed First Born’s help to put it up, – was the giant spider.
Brilliant isn’t it, and it really dragged the trick or treaters in at night.
It was a really lovely gathering, I do love seeing my odd family, I managed to get some great photos of my mum dressed up as a witch, but I won’t put them on here as she would not be happy. My family and photos, ugh, such hard work, I know I am as guilty as them but it would be nice to have some photos, but as soon as Ibrought the camera out, – and sticking to the theme – they were like a bunch of vampires and I had opened the curtains on a sunny day, all cowering behind their hands, grrrr.
Here are a couple of Smalls who was a very pretty ghostly girl.
And Golden Boy was briefly a bat.
And I got a couple of cute pics of First Born and Polly.
And then Golden Boy had a ghostly moment.
Well done folks, a lovely way to spend a family weekend.
