We arrived home 2 days ago and is the holiday already becoming a distant memory!? all that heat and sunshine, the only things on our minds was where shall we eat tonight. And now we are home, Biggy is already feeling the stresses of work, I am trying to dry endless washing in the rain (I cannot believe I have had to use the tumble dryer in August!) and oh are we forgetting it all already…

But it was bloody lovely, the weather was at times on the brink of unbearable and I had a few tummy issues but who cares, we were away, the kids were wonderful and life felt really good. We took lots and lots of photos and I have spent hours sorting them out for a photo book and I will bore you with a few on here.

So the hol, well I started a diary on day 1 but by day 2 how many different ways could I say we sat by the pool all day and went for a walk every evening to different restaurants – we had a competition going all week on who could pick the best restaurant – I failed the first night by picking an old favourite whose chef we found out after the meal was “with lawyer” – meaning had been arrested, so all our meals came out individually, there was a lot of waiting around, but still the location was lovely.

All our worries about how Golden Boy would be on his first flight and first time in a hot country were totally unnecessary; he was all smiles about being woken up at 4am and he caused no trouble on the flight, the hudl for entertainment and a snack box were a great distraction and he spent about half an hour running up and down and smiling at people, but who could resist that face! (I won’t mention the 2 hour tantrum on the flight home, but don’t we all want to cry then!).

So hot, dry, dusty Turkey, we were so happy to be back, after 3 years away we were delighted and relieved to see the villa again, it was like seeing an old friend.
