The first morning on holiday is full of smugness; I was for once smiling, opening curtains and windows, the air is fresh and clean, you can hear cockerels and donkeys, and knowing that I was far from home, not having to work, Good Morning Mallorca! – okay so it was a little chilly and overcast, and 10 minutes later it started to rain, but I didn’t not panic, it wouldn’t last long, I hoped…
We spent the morning mooching around the villa and watched the rain fall, eek, but I still wasn’t worried. For lunch we ventured out to Pollenca – oh the roads are fun, they appear to be narrower than the car, well done Biggy for keeping the car in one piece. We walked up 365 steps – what a killer! – in the drizzle to look at a church covered in scaffolding, but the view was pretty great, then we stumbled back down to eat some lunch, whilst watching the rain.
After lunch we went for another little drive to Port de Pollenca, which was a very pretty little coastal town with a lot of ice cream on display. Snack time.
Then it was back to the villa, Golden Boy deserved and needed to use up some energy so him and Biggy went for a chilly swim, in the rain.
In the eve we went back to Port de Pollenca for a little walk and then dinner, Smalls had her second burger of the day and Golden Boy behaved wonderfully in the restaurant, and it stopped raining, wahoo.
Then home to bed.
