I have been spending the last couple of months making chocolate chip cookies, lots of chocolate chip cookies. There are so many recipes out there for this classic biscuit and I thought I would put together a top 10 list of my favourites. It is actually quite difficult to make a decent one – not to doughy, you need a bit of crunch, but there should be a a certain gooeyness too, you don’t want to break your teeth. Anyways I was making some headway, had a nice little list going and Smalls was in chocolate chip cookie heaven – it would seem she is not too fussy, any one will do her. Then I came across this blog post – and it was the same idea but done so much better than I could; it was written beautifully and looked great, so I scrapped my idea – much to Smalls’ disappointment.
However with all this research I did discover that Nigella had the best Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe that I had tried and they are in my recipe box forever now. Then the other day, after a trip to Poundland and a purchase of a box of Maltesers I thought why not replace the chocolate in the recipe with the Maltesers and see if it works. It does.
They are really yum, with Nigella’s cookie dough and the crunch of the Maltesers, it is a winner, however, timing is everything as I found out with the second batch when they were left in the oven a few minutes longer than they should of been and we are back to the breaking of teeth scenario.
But here you go some highly recommended Malteser Cookies.
