Biggy bought a large pumpkin last week and I have been attempting to make some delicious food with it, so far, not so good, I tried a pumpkin pie, that was a bit weird, similar to a carrot cake but with something odd about it and I last night I made some pumpkin gratin to go with our sausages, and that was just a bit meh. I should have just given it to Golden Boy to play with like I did last year.

Sensory Pumpkin

For some sensory play to entertain the children I cut off the top of a pumpkin and mixed the insides with some cornflour and water, which gave us a wonderful mixture of slime and seeds that the children played with for ages.

It was messy and sticky, and a nice, cheap way to make some sensory play for the kids.

At first Golden Boy was a bit anxious about putting his hands into the pumpkin, he wasn’t sure if he liked the feeling of the mixture.

Once he got over his fear he loved it.

And may we take a moment to look at Golden Boy’s hair just one year ago.
