This is a brief post as this week has been a bit of a blur; I kept it very close to my chest, well actually I told a few fibs to people – that my driving test was a couple of weeks away, when actually it was Thursday – and I was pooping myself, I really thought I was going to be one of those people that failed it over and over again, but somehow I managed to pass (on my second go) and the relief that I will never have to go through that hideous ordeal again is amazing and also the fact that Golden Boy and I are free, we can just get in the car and go. Which is exactly what we did on Friday, we got in the car and after a shaky start we went to Sainsburys, and to most people that may sound really dull but to someone who has spent years just being able to go to small local shops this was bloody brilliant and I spent too much money on absolutely nothing – except a bright yellow jumper for myself and gruffalo pants for Golden Boy, these items were obviously essentials – I think I am going to have to be extra careful with my money now as this freedom might get expensive.
Anyway, the driving is going well so far, although I had to pull-over and have an argument with the windscreen wipers at one point as once the rainshower had finished and the sun was shining mine were still swishing manically, and I am switching buttons and twisting knobs and the bloody things wouldn’t stop, I was washing both back and front windows and they just seemed to be getting faster and faster and I was pleading with them to stop and Golden Boy is sitting in the back saying all concerned “what matter mummy?”. I got it under control eventually but I think Biggy is going to need to give me some instructions, and maybe we should go over the lights before I go out in the dark alone…
Oh and the less said about the parking the better.
Weekend has been a mixture of good and bad, I had a lovely Friday night out with Bestie, but oh the hangover and Auntie …. came down for the weekend which is always lovely, but then Golden Boy got a 24 hour bug and spent half of Saturday sleeping on me and then up most of the night, Smalls also wasn’t well, so we were the house of germs – but now everyone seems absolutely fine and the house is back to its noisy messy self.
